I’ll start off by saying that I’ve never been a successful blogger. Since starting my first blog at the young age of twelve, I’ve created possibly 30+ blogs and websites, all with various themes and concepts (at the age of twelve, for example, I began by creating a website dedicated to make-up tips, though I can only imagine the shape someone must be in to take make-up advice from a twelve year old. When I was fourteen, I endeavored to create a blog about tropical fish, an all too exciting hobby that was unfortunately not shared by as large an audience as I had hoped.
Fast forward ten years and I’m still searching for the perfect theme for a blog – one that I will always be interested in, and have something to write about. The trouble seems to be that I’m never doing the same thing for long. But, with the growing professional incentives of blogging – like showing off work to attract business and impress potential employers, I figure it’s high time I give the blog another go. Thrty-third time’s the charm, right?
Right!
This time I’ve decided that maybe a superspecific niche theme isn’t necessary. Maybe someday I’ll start a new blog about hand-crochet arachnid plushies, but for now I’m going to set the simple, attainable goal of posting weekly with something well-written and at least mildly interesting. It may not sound like a big challenge, but with my busy schedule and capricious nature, it will be. So here goes nothing!
